Quick Review - RoboRally
I have seen RoboRally on several top 10 lists and it's always caught my attention.  I have Robot Turtles and have played it with my family and RoboRally has looked like a much more 'grown up' version of that game.  Since I love programming I have been anxious to try it.  Last night we played it at a friend's house for the first time.  I must say, I really thought it was awesome!  We played a four player game with four adults and since it was the first time for my wife and I (and our hosts had only played a few times in the past) we chose a very simple board configuration to play on.  But despite using a simple configuration we still had a blast!  So much so that my wife is making me buy a copy ASAP so we can play it with our boys (4, almost 5, and 7.5).  We think they'll both be able to play despite the box saying it is for ages 12+, but I can definitely see how some of the more complex configurations would definitely be for older players.  Our friend's copy of the game had all hand-painted miniatures and that really added to the fun, so I think I'll paint ours after I get a copy, too.  Hopefully I'll be able to pick up a copy from our local game store this week.

Preliminary Rating: 9/10 - we really, really liked this game!

GJJG Game Reviews are independent, unpaid reviews of games I, George Jaros, have played with my family and friends.  Some of these games I own, some are owned by friends, some are borrowed, and some are print and play versions of games.  Where applicable I will indicate if games have been played with kids or adults or a mix (Family Play).  I won't go into extensive detail about how to play the game (there are plenty of other sources for that information and I'll occasionally link to those other sources), but I will give my impressions of the game and how my friends and family reacted to the game.  First Play Impression reviews will only get a single rating of 1-10 (low-high) based on my first impressions of the game during my first time playing.  Hopefully I'll get more chances to play the game and will be able to give it a full review soon.
